After completing his military service, Carver transitioned into a career in law enforcement, where he served as a police officer in Indianapolis. His exceptional work ethic and unwavering commitment to public safety quickly earned him a reputation as a dedicated and reliable officer.

Recognized for his outstanding investigative skills, Carver transitioned into the role of a detective, joining the prestigious Major Case branch. In this capacity, he tackled complex and high-profile cases, earning accolades for his meticulous attention to detail and ability to bring justice to victims and their families. His relentless pursuit of truth and justice earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of the community he served.Expanding his professional repertoire, Carver took on the role of investigator for the Defense Security Services, where he continued to display his exceptional analytical skills and dedication to protecting national security. Parallel to his law enforcement career, Carver also served as a Deputy Coroner, where he demonstrated compassion, empathy, and professionalism when dealing with families during their most difficult times. Dave has written 3 books - "Off the Path:An Addicts Story of Hope Amidst Despair" , "A Pillow Away", and "Judge, Jury, and Executioner: A Detectives Historical Perspective of the Bible.  All publications are available on Amazon and Amazon Kindle.

Dave currently manages multiple social media pages and is the co-host and producer, along with his wife of 23 years Cindy, of a national podcast called "A Pillow Away."
